NEWSHAM AWARDED 2 CHAMPIONSHIPS
1320X Ultimate Outlaw and Atco Quick 8 Champion for 2009

oe Newsham and his double bad Blue Mustang finished it's last season winning 2 Outlaw 10.5 Championships for 2009. Joe took home the Atco Raceway Quick 8 Championship and the 1320X Ultimate Outlaw Championships for 2009. He might have seized some others had rainy weather not shut down so many races this year.
The winning combo from J & E Performance made it's last pass at the Shakedown at E-Town this year when Joe wrecked badly. Towards the end of a blistering pass that was hard on the bars, the car made a hard move left putting the car on it's top sliding across the track, bouncing into the retaining wall at 200 mph. Luckily, Joe only received a cracked vertebra and was able to walk away from the horrific crash. The Mustang was not so lucky, it was a total loss but did it's job and protected it's driver as well as you could ask it to.
The loss of the Stang won't prevent Joe from being a serious challenge to Outlaw 10.5 competitors in 2010 however. He's purchased a very nice 1992 Camaro built by Vanishing Point that will receive the same killer twin turbo engine combo out of the Stang. Joe says it's a real nice car and it's gonna be faster, so watch out!
Congratulations on your Championship wins Joe and Team J & E Performance!

ZALDIVAR & FUTCH OUTLAW 10.5 CHAMPS
2009 ORSCA Outlaw 10.5 World Champions and Record Holder

here's no doubt that the red hot 2004 Corvette of Carlos Zaldivar with Bill Futch behind the wheel had to be a very intimidating sight for fellow competitors this year. The duo was #1 qualifier at 7 out of 8 events, which immediately painted a big red target on their back. Any competitor wanting to advance to the final round knew they had their work cut out for them, and most failed...
While the team made it look easy, any racer knows the level of commitment and dedication it takes to run at the top, let alone race at the pace these two guys have in 2009, is not for the fainthearted. Not only did they take home the ORSCA points championship, they also laid claim to one of the quickest 60's in the class, in the 1.07 range consistently (impressive for a turbo car). They also put down the quickest and fastest pass of the year with a 4.24@184.
Congratulations on the Championship and impressive season Carlos, Bill and the entire CZ Racing Team!

HUETTEL WINS OTTA SEASON FINALResets ET Record - Revia 2009 OTTA Champion

vadale Raceway was a hotbed of True Ten Five racing November 14th. OTTA was putting on their season final and it drew racers from as far away as Oklahoma, Alabama and Arkansas to get some last minute racing before the weather turns. As usual, NCRC Customers were out in force...
Kyle Huettel broke the OTTA ET record at the race in the new BAD9ER running a best of 4.66. Randy Westmoreland made the trip from Arkansas and laid down a 4.64 in Qualifying on drag radials - wow he's really making progress on the new twins combo!
Dewayne Mills was there with the Golden Gorrilla, also a just finished new combo sporting a big F3 blower setup. Mills defeated Randy Westmoreland in the quarter finals in a ALL NCRC round and advanced to the semi's before getting stopped by the BAD9ER. Keep an eye on that Gold Camaro, we're betting there's plenty more left in the Gorilla when they get her dialed in. Kyle Huettel took a trip to the winners circle after his win over Fitzgerold in the finals.
This race concluded the OTTA season and NCRC Customer Chad Revia took home the points Championship for 2009!
Congratulations to Chad and Virus Racing on the Season Championship and Kyle BAD9ER Huettel on the win!

SHAKEDOWN AT ETOWN
Big Daddy Wins Drag Radial / Lynch and Vrettos Set Records

ig Daddy Dwayne Gutridge picked up his second Shake Down Drag Radial win at this years rescheduled event. Big D took down Dave Hance in the final round for the big win and also broke into the six second zone for the first time! Dwayne also went 6.99@204 becoming the latest member in the elite club.
Congratulations Dwayne - You got it done and did it with less, a great way to end the season.
We also want to mention Alex Vrettos who reset the Drag Radial 1/4 mile record at Etown with a 6.894@213.06, capturing the low ET award and the honor of being first to the 6.80's. Alex's bright yellow mustang went 3.15 to the 330' and 4.61 to the 1/8th on that pass - just flat amazing... Congratulations Alex and Team CoRupt, heck of a season for you guys.
In Outlaw 10.5 NCRC Heavy's Chuck Ulsch and Gil Mobley, Tim Lynch and Steve Petty, Bad Brad Brand and Rob Golobo set the pace in qualifying with Lynch leading the pack. Both the Lynch Mob and Mobley Motorsports were on a mission to go fast and take home checks at this race but things didn't exactly according to plan.
Regardless of how everything worked out Lunch and Petty succeeded in blowing away the current Outlaw 10.5 record with a 6.400@224 mph blast in qualifying and took home the Pro Line World Record award for the event. Chuck Ulsch ran within a hundredth of Lynch in qualifying and had the top MPH at 227.38, close but not enough for the record. Unfortunately for the Mobley Motorsports teams they got knocked out 1st round by Rob Golobo in an all NCRC race.
In eliminations the Lynch Mob couldn't make it to the semifinals giving Deez Fernick a clear shot to the finals against Rob Golobo. With the engine hurt from the semi-finals, Golobo couldn't compete with Fernick, but he did go home with R/U money, not a bad end for the day!
Congrat's Tim Lynch and Steve Petty on the new Outlaw 10.5 World Record, and Rob Golobo on the runner up!
On another note, We were sick to see customers Brad Brand, Paul Major and Joe Newsham crash at this event but very glad to know everyone was uninjured and can go on to race another day. Sorry for the bad luck fella's and we're hoping for a fast recovery for everyone.

WORLD STREET NATIONALS WINNERS
Rabon and Ulsch Win -Lynch, Gottier, Nelson Runner Up

oby Rabon appears to have squished all the bugs his new Twin Turbo Mustang has experienced this season. After recovering from an accident back in May, in September his luck got a little better when he went 4.02@193 at the UORS race and runnered up due to parachutes firing early.
That's all behind him now and he's picked up his first win of the season at one of the biggest races of the year! Coby qualified #1 breaking the WSN Super Pro Street record with a 6.269@235. In the finals he defeated last years winner, Mike Hill, in a "All NCRC" final running 6.273@234.21 vs The Hitman's 6.365@233.17. Rabon also set Low ET for Orlando at 6.235 and Top Speed at 237.92! He was rewarded with $13,000 payday for the win, Clean Sweep Award, and #1 Qualifier Award.
Congratulations Coby!!!

Over in Outlaw 10.5, NCRC customers were making lots of noise. Chuck Ulsch nabbed the #1 Qualifying position with a 6.450@224.62, Tim Lynch was #2 with a 6.592@232.31 setting Top MPH, and Brad Brand at a close #3 6.654@224.40.
Fresh from winning ADRL XTF in the other Mobley Motorsports Camaro, Ulsch held his advantage throughout eliminations. In the finals he faced Tim Lynch where he laid down a fast 6.45@224.62 for the win - Lynch had problems in the other lane and wasn't able to put up any competition.
Congratulations Chuck, Gill and the Mobley Motorsports Crew!! Also to Tim Lynch/Steve Petty on the runner up!
We also want to give a shout out to Mel Nelson had a wild ride in the final but still runnered up in Drag Radial and also Sam Gottier needs an attaboy for #2 Qualifier and runner up in Heavy Street..
Congratulations guys!!!

PAPPAS WINS BATTLE FOR THE BELT
NCRC XTF Customers Unchained - Ulsch Wins 1st 2010 Race

The ADRL World Finals in Ennis, Texas October 24th proved to be quite a race for Neal Chance Customers Chuck Ulsch/Gil Mobley and Spiro Pappas in the Xtreme Ten Five class.
Friday night Pappas won the ADRL Battle for the Belt Championship, and he sure had to work for it! Starting from the 8th qualifying position, Pappas defeated Jake Carlton, Gary White, Jeff Nasier and finally met up with fellow NCRC Standout Chuck Ulsch for the final. Ulsch had been busy on the other side of the ladder busting off a 3.953@202.85 record breaking pass against Todd Moyer! In the finals Pappas got a .018 holeshot and went 3.958@192.55 to Ulsch's .042 3.988@201.46 - what a race!!!
On Saturday which was the 2010 Season Opener race, Pappas and Ulsch once again meet up in the final round after blowing through a field of clutch cars (we love that!). This time Ulsch was the one with a .021 holeshot win, he went 3.94@201.46 against Pappas's record breaking 3.92@193.27 - incrementals were 1.001, 2.634!
Everyone here at Neal Chance Racing Converters is extremely proud of the achievements this year that both Ulsch and Pappas have achieved in ADRL XTF. They've proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that our new all billet aluminum converter not only can compete, but it can also achieve championship wins and record breaking performance in the fastest 10.5 class in the world!
A big hearty congratulations to Spiro Pappas and Team, winner of the battle of the belts and new XTF ET record holder and also to Chuck Ulsch & Gil Mobley for the 1st race win of the 2010 season and a extremely exciting, record breaking racing season!

Ron Evans collected a NHRA Wally October 24th at the Kansas International Dragway race in Wichita, Kansas. He defeated NCRC's own Eric Gray in the final round of Super Pro. Evan's ran a 7.677@177.73 on a 7.70 dial with a almost perfect light (.002) for the win and Gray got a little to antsy on the light and left early.

MUSTANG MIKE ORTC BOOSTED WINNER
New twin blower combo proves to be a winner!

ustang Mike Modeste had made big strides during October! Earlier this month he reset the drag radial record in testing on his new combo going 4.53/6.92 then, with few laps under his belt, headed to Bradenton, Florida for the big Outlaw Radial Tire Championship.
Mike got to the track a little late so he wasn't able to get the first round of qualifying in, but he did get qualified 2nd round at #27. After that he got the car dialed in and things really rolled his way in eliminations. He got a bye in the 1st round, in round two he dispatched heavy weight Steve Jackson 4.644@164.62 to Jackson's 5.003@161.40. Next in a "All NCRC" round he defeated a redlighting Alex Vettros, then went on to beat Tony Ridenour in the final!
Mike wasn't the only NCRC Standout at Bradenton. Paul Major also was laying down some impressive numbers. Paul ran a 4.67@151 first hit off the trailer, very impressive considering the 200 lb weight penalty placed on his combination. Major was the #1 qualifier on the boosted ladder and ran Low ET of eliminations with a 4.58@154.31. Kevin Fiscus, another NCRC Standout and 6 second club member unfortunately snagged the wall during first round, he won but was unable to go on to the next round due to damage.
Congratulations Mike on your win!

DOWNS WINS 5TH MAKO 10.5 RACE
Bad Black Nova on a unstoppable run to the championship!

lint Down's has one VERY lucky rabbit's foot that any racer would love to have! He snagged his 5th MAKO Ten Five win in a row and 6th win in a row this season. He's now in an almost unbeatable position to win the MAKO points Championship, which would make his 2nd back to back win!
Clint won two finals at the October 24th MoKan Fall Shootout in Asbury, Missouri - the first was a followup to a previous race at Tulsa that had to be concluded early due to an oil down. In that final he faced Ryan Martin, the current MAKO record holder, during the 2nd round of qualifying to conclude the Tulsa Race. In a "All NCRC" matchup, Clint dusted off Martin with a 5.0876@142.31 vs Martin's rearend grinding 7.1654@70.69.
Setting the stage for a repeat of Down's August 9th double win, Clint ran through eliminations with bracket race consistency, taking out anyone in the 21 car field that was in his way. In the final he drew BJ Ward in another "All NCRC" final round, 5.0923@141.78 to Ward's 5.9268@91.39 to take the win and virtually lock down the MAKO 10.5 Championship. MAKO's season end race is November 21st (if weather allows) in Noble, Oklahoma.
Congratulations Clint on a heck of a season!

Bad Brad Brand Outlaw 10.5 Champ - sets new PB!

Photo Tim Lewis / Drag Illustrated
Brad Brand won the Al-Anabi Shootout at Virginia Motorsports Park October 19th in Outlaw 10.5. Brand defeated Dan Millens in the final round of Outlaw 10.5 and ran a new personal best of 4.30 flat @ 178!
Way to go Brad!!
We also want to give a shot out to Tim Lynch & Steve Petty. The Lynch Mob laid down a 4.25@187 pass to grab the #1 qualifier during the 2nd round. Unfortunately Lynch redlighted in the semi's ending his day early.
John Decerbo who is one of our All Billet Converter customers had a runner up finish in Pro Nitrous. He almost cracked the 3 second zone with a 4.01 pass at the event - we're betting he'll be there soon!

NMCA MEMPHIS SEASON FINALE
NCRC Customers Lock Up 5 Class Championships & 2 Wins
he National Muscle Car Association wrapped up their 2009 season October 19th at Memphis Motorsports Park with a record turnout of cars. Cold weather made racing challenging, but also generated the mega horsepower resulting in some smashed records! Neal Chance customers locked up championships in 5 classes, broke three records, won two classes with 2 runner ups. All of which made us extremely proud when we received the news!

Joe Bucaro - 2009 NPS Champion
Nostalgia Pro Street
Joe Bucaro sealed the championship at Memphis in Nostaligia Pro Street with a R/U finish just in front of Kevin Parent, another NCRC standout. Danny Shemwell beat Joe on a holeshot in the final, but it was still a good end to the season with the championship in his pocket.
Congratulations Joe!
Super Street

Jim Blair 2009 Super Street Champion
Super Street had a bunch of NCRC customers getting crazy. Conrad Scarry started off the party with a 6.69@221 blast in qualifying - good enough to blow away both ends of the record and score the #1 position.
Scarry continued the effort into eliminations where he defeated a hard charging Tony Nesbitt. That defeat ended Nesbitt's hopes for gaining enough points over Blair to win the championship and gave Blair the advantage in points.
Scarry continued to put up passes in the 6.70's all the way to the final where he faced Mike Murillo. Murillo slaughtered the light with a .008 reaction to Scarry's .108, and went down the track on a string. In the other lane, Scarry got loose, dashing his chances on making up the difference at the light when Murillo put down a 6.98 taking the win.
Congratulations Jim Blair on the 2009 Championship and Conrad Scarry on the new class record and R/U finish!!!
Xtreme Street

Chris Singleton NMCA 2009 Champion
Chris Singleton lost the battle but won the war at Memphis. Chris grenaded his engine after recording the only 7 second run in qualifying then passed the scales giving the #1 qualifier to Jamie Stanton.
Chris didn't have the time to replace the engine to continue on and race, but he was able to finish with the 2009 Class Championship in his name which made for a pretty good weekend!
Congratulations Chris!!
Pro Stock

Skip Baskin 2009 Pro Stock Champion
NCRC Customer Charlie Booze kicked the Pro Stock Record to the curb at Memphis recording a 8.389@163.41 during qualifying. That's the first 8.30 pass in the class ever!
Booze continued his onslaught to the final round where he faced Skip Baskin for an "All NCRC" duel. Baskin cut the tree down on Booze, but spun too much making it impossible to catch Booze. The runner up finish did give Baskin plenty of points to take home the championship for 2009, which was a great end to the year.
Congratulations Skip on your 2009 Pro Stock Championship and Charlie Booze on the new record and race win!!
Mean Street - Don Baskin

Don Baskin 2009 Mean Street Champion
The cool Fall air also gave Don Baskin all he needed to break his own record in Mean Street with 9.979@130.14, the first 9 second pass in the class this year!
Don came into Memphis with plenty of points to take home the championship, but capping the season off with one more win put icing on the cake! He put Jeff Swanson on the trailer in the finals and added one more notch in his win belt.
Congratulations Don on your class championship and a dominate season!

CONNOLLY WINS KOTS BIG $13,000 RACE
Picked up 2 tenths with switch to NCRC & wins 10 Large!!

1st Round - Can your car do this with no track prep?
The team of Kevin Connolly (Driver & Car owner) and Billy Gumber (Crew Chief, Engine & Trans owner) are two of our new customers who found 2 tenths that were previously hidden in their car.
The newly found performance helped him win ChitownRacing.com's "No Track Prep" King of the Streets Event at Morocco, Indiana on October 3rd!
This wasn't just any race, the purse was $13,000 & $10,000 to win which will bring out the big hitters, but like any race, they all had to race the track as well as each other... however this wasn't just any track. Conditions for the event were 3 days of rain prior to the event. Water was standing on the track right before it started, cold - 60 degree track temp, 48 degree air temp and the only track prep was done to the starting line!! Ouch... if that won't make you second guess your tune up nothing will!!! But that didn't stop Connolly & Gumber, they figured out what to do and laid it down taking home the win!! Connolly got the honors of being the first out on the track, and much to everyone's surprise he put it on the bumper after a small burnout in some "Pimp Juice" - Wow... Since this was a KOTS race, no times were displayed but Connolly made it to the final round taking home $10,000!
Congratulations on the win Kevin and Billy!!!

CONNELLY WINS WITH NEAL CHANCE
1.22 60' on 8.5" Slicks - making 10.5" guys jealous!!

Martin Connelly has seen quite a bit of success after switching over to a Neal Chance converter. His Mustang has been going faster everytime they've had it out and have one every race they've entered with the new converter! Wow - now that's results we love to see...
Martin says the car has had a best so far of 1.22 60' - on 8.5" tires no less! and 5.50@129 at 3200 lbs. They currently hold the 8.5 record at London, Kentucky and have won every 8.5 race there this year to date. It's amazing how fast some of these guys are running on such a small tire!!
Congratulations on the success Martin and good luck with the winning streak!!

MUSTANG MIKE BLASTS A 6.92!!
Goes 6.92 in testing at MIR with Twin F2 Power

Mustang Mike Modeste not only gained entry to the 6 Second Drag Radial Club during testing at Maryland International Raceway, he jumped out in the lead of the pack for stock suspension cars! His Twin F2 powered BBF Mustang laid down a New Stock Suspension Drag Record 6.920 pass at Maryland International Raceway October 2nd. This is a new combination and you can bet the bank there's more in it!!!
Only one car has been quicker in the 1/4 on radials, and that was Eric Dillard last March at SGMP who went 6.91@221 with an ORSCA Limited Street Car. Needless to say, the 6.9X drag radial tire club, regardless of suspension, is a very limited membership so far..
Incrementals;
1.187 60'
3.061 330'
4.530@166.58 660'
6.920@196.79 1/4

Major went 4.87@159 during qualifying but as eliminations came around the dew started to fall resulting in a pedalfeast in the final. Paul went 6.12@132 vs Scott Bitzer's 9.23@51 when both cars got loose.

NMRA Bowling Green Season Final Winners

ohn "Fireball" Urist clinched his 5th NMRA Super Street Outlaw Championship at Bowling Green last weekend!!!
Seldom does the word "Dominate" not quite seem enough but dominate is what Urist has done by going undefeated 4 years in a row! It hasn't been a cake walk for him either during the last 11 years in the class...
Urist was trailing John Macdonald in the points chase leading up to Bowling Green, but the weekend win over Sammy Vincent put Urist at the top of the points and sealed his championship victory. Urist also reset the SSO record during the final round with a 7.317@193.93 slam dunk to cap the season off!
Congratulations John on another outstanding year in SSO!!!

Dave Bowman - Drag Radial

Dave Bowman successfully defended his West Coast Hot Rod Association Crown in the Drag Radial Class. Bowman won 3 out 4 races he competed at, Qualified #1 3 times, and reset the ET and MPH records at each event! At 3550 lbs and on 275 Drag Radials, it's impressive and a pretty successful season in anyone's book!
Going into Race 5 Bowman was in the #2 points seat and needed to overtake Dee Pfnister to win the points battle. He got off to a good start by qualifying #1 with a 5.027@151.71 and held that lead through eliminations. That qualifying pass was also a new personal best and was done with 106 degree air temps with over 150 degree track temperatures!
Bowman defeated Armen Maghdessian in the final round to seal the points lead and take home the win running 5.204@150.45 Vs Maghdessian's off pace 6.456@85.80.

Roger also holds the WCHRA 1/4 Mile ET and MPH records at 7.612 and 184.71, plus the 1/8th mile mph Record of 152.25 ! Roger was also the runner up in the True Ten Five points battle for the 2009 season.

KITCHEN & MARTIN WIN THROWDOWN
Turbo Todd Kitchen and Ryan Martin Slam Dunk
September 26th at Tulsa Raceway Park's Throwdown in T-Town, Todd Kitchen took the win in Outlaw 10.5, with a holeshot win over Alan Wright, 4.70@168.37 vs Wright's quicker but late on the tree 4.69@159.02. Both were off pace due to track conditions at the late night race.
Kitchen has been running hard this year, previously he blew the Outlaw 10.5 record away during Ozark Raceway Park's Street Machines with a record setting 4.3233!! It will be interesting if Kitchen decides to do some traveling as he's running some very fast ET's...
In Limited Street Ryan Martin from Moore, Oklahoma defeated Josh Lindsey driving the Doc Mustang Machine. Martin ran a 4.906@154.02 vs Lindsey's 5.001@156.21 in a "all NCRC Final Round". DAVIS GAINS 4 TENTHS WITH NCRC
Converter upgrade yields big improvement and race win!

Lance Davis wrote to us letting us know how his new converter worked out for him..
"Marty,
I am emailing to thank you for the great converter. I entered Centerville
Dragway's Drag Radial shootout over the weekend and the first pass off the
trailer with the same tune that I had previously ran my previous personal
best (6.39 @108 mph with a different brand converter) yielded a 6.01 @ 116
mph!
A small timing change and after 2 years of trying I finally broke into
the 5s with personal best in all increments; 1.33 60', 3.81 330', 5.92 1/8th
118mph! The car was consistently in this range the rest of the night and I
ended up winning the race.
Thank You for your help!"
Lance Davis
Lance - we're happy that the new converter made such a big improvement and Congratulations on the Win!

HUBER WINS DRAG WEEK WITH 4 CYL
Whips the small block power adder field with a Turbo 4!

Jon Huber of St. Louis Missouri likes to prove he can go fast with less, a lot less! He just finished winning Hot Rod Magazine's Drag Week competition in September in the small block power adder class - with a little 2.5 turbo 4 cylinder!
And he didn't just win, he slaughtered the competition running low 9's when the majority of the field was running low 10's. Quite an accomplishment to have the rest of the field covered by about 3 tenths with 1/2 the engine. Huber's best Drag Week pass was 9.23@150, and his 5-day average was 9.37. That performance won him Fastest Ford, Fastest 4-Cylinder and the small block power adder class championship while he was at it...
To pull that kind of performance out of so few cubes didn't happen overnight, Jon's been working on the car for a long time (he's owned it since 1979), but he's really getting her figured out now. We're also pleased to report that he switched to one of our new all billet converters, which we would like to think played a small part in his win..
Congratulations Jon and Huber Performance Racing on your well earned victory!

REVIA GOES 4.70 FLAT IN TESTING
Watch out Limited Street Records!!!
Chad Revia went to Baytown Texas for testing last weekend in preperation for the $10,000 race in Valdosta. It certainly appears he is READY!
Chad went 4.70@167 in legal ORSCA Limited Street trim! Wow... and it was no fluke either with several passes in the 4.70's. Incrementals were;
1.22 60'
3.20 330'
4.70 660'
167 mph
Give Virus Racing some good air, some more tuning and just watch the Limited Street Record get annihilated !!! Congratulations Chad and the Virus Racing Team!

ULSCH DOMINATES XTF AT ROCKINGHAM
Runs 206 MPH out the back, faster than all other classes!!!

Photos Courtesy Competitionplus.com
Driver Chuck Ulsch and Car Owner Gil Mobley flat blew away the ADRL MPH record at Rockingham Dragway Sept. 12th with a 206.39 during the final round. They not only recorded the fastest pass in XTF competition ever, but also recorded a faster MPH than all the other cars in both Pro Extreme and Pro Nitrous! Wow...
After defeating NCRC customers Todd Moyer and Spiro Pappas, Ulsch took out Jeff Paulk in the semifinal with another three second blast AND chopped the tree down with a .013 light. Ulsch went 3.997@198.23 to Paulk's respectable but not enough 4.13@171.36.
In the final the Mobley Team faced Gary White in the Titan Motorports car. Ulsch collected his second ADRL XTF win by taking White down with a 4.028@206.39 to Whites 4.21@158.43 - that's more MPH than any other car at this race including Pro Extreme and Pro Nitrous classes. It's also less then 1 mph away from Jason Scruggs Pro Extreme 207.43 ADRL Record - but on 10.5 tires!!!
Congratulations Chuck, Gil and the entire Mobley Motorsports Team!!!

NCRC CUSTOMERS SWEEP 4 OUT OF 5 CLASSES AT STREET MACHINES
Records fall and wins rack up in Pro Mod, O10.5, TT5 and D/R...
Ozark Raceway Park's Street Machine Shootout Race on September 10-12th was off the hook this year with spectacular racing action. Racers filled the pits and spectators jammed the bleachers at the once a year big race in SW Missouri. NCRC racers were out in force and hammered down wins in 4 out of 5 classes and broke 5 track records!!!
In Pro Mod, Ron Muenks in the Black Bat defeated Rick Farber in his beautiful 57 Chevy with a 4.15@175.99 to Farber's 4.29@171.56. The win marked Ron's first during a Street Machines Event!!

In Outlaw 10.5, Turbo Todd Kitchen put his blue Firebird into the winners circle after cracking off consistently strong 4.30's passes for the whole event. He defeated Tim Slavens in an "All NCRC" final round when Slavens car got loose at half track and clipped the wall. Luckily Tim didn't get hurt and the car suffered mostly cosmetic damage. Tim sliding around wasn't any match for Kitchens early lift 4.67@130 pass which got him the win light. Kitchen also set low ET for the event and new personal best pass of 4.3233@171.62 - a new track ET Record! Also notable was NCRC customer Mike Kimmis in his Turbo Trans Am who set Top MPH for the event at 175.30, also a new track record! Unfortunately Kimmis suffered mechanical problems during eliminations and his day ended early.

In True Ten Five NCRC was in the House!!! Early in qualifying Josh Lindsey and the Doc Mustang Team showed they had the power when they laid down a 160.71 mph record breaking blast during round 4, unfortunately waste gate issues hampered their efforts during eliminations. In the final round another long time NCRC Customer, Mike Genovese aka "Mike G", dug down deep and found some more ET when he cut the light down against Justin "Red" Martin who was busy in the other lane playing with his dash. Mike pulled out a .0254 light and went 4.865@151.16 vs Martin's slightly faster but .065 later light running 4.856@156.47. Genovese also recently won the ORP Super Street Outlaw race, so he's on a roll!

In Drag Radial Fred Silbernagel fought a tough wheelstanding problem all day long only to get it figured out late in eliminations. Once he calmed the black beast down it was enough to break the track ET & MPH records during round 2 with a 5.1964@138.25 and backed it up with 5.2163@138.93 during round 3. Fred defeated NCRC Customer Stanley Newberry in the all NCRC final round running an off pace 5.3250@134.49 vs. Newberry's also off pace 5.7896@132.78.
Congratulations to all the winners, record breakers, runner-ups and thanks to all the competitors that came out to race at the Ozark Raceway Park Street Machines. We look forward to next year's event being bigger and better than ever!!!

Congratulations Tony!!
NMCA Pro Stock
Andy Schmidt took home the Pro Stock win over Don Bowles with a 8.493 blast and clear advantage over Bowles 8.532@156.20.
Congratulations Andy!
NCRC customer Butch Kemp was #1 qualifier at 8.451@157.95 and the day was looking pretty good for him until the second round. After his show quality 67' Chevy II stood up, it got out of shape and rolled. A very sad turn of events for such a beautiful piece of machinery, but we're glad that Butch wasn't injured.

NMCA Xtreme Street
In Xtreme Street Chris Singleton drove the wheels off his Mustang with a 7.9650@175.12 blast putting him in the #1 spot and resetting the ET record in the process!!!
That pole position helped him get through 17 competitors on the way to the final round where he met Jamie Stanton in his new Camaro. Singleton tool the win light easily after Stanton pushed too hard and red lighted his chances away.
Congratulations Chris!!

NMCA Mean Street
Don Baskin also grabbed the #1 seat in Mean Street with a 10.480@126.01 pass. Don defeated Alan Von Ahnen in the final round with a 9.93 to Ahnen's 9.99!

FIRST TO THE 3'S !!!!
Ulsch/Mobley break the 3 second barrier in ADRL XTF
Chuck Ulsch and Gil Mobley went down in history Saturday night at the ADRL race at Gateway for being the first to break the three second barrier in ADRL Extreme 10.5!!! They ran 3.98@197.88 which also broke the MPH record as well. All done with a conservative 1.05 60', the Camaro went 2.733 to the 330'!! Not only is that the first pass in the threes for ADRL, it's the first ever on 10.5 tires! Next stop 3.80's !!!!
Ulsch will be the first member of the Mickey Thompson Extreme 10.5 3 Second Club which awarded the team with $3000 from Mickey Thompson and $5000 from Flowmaster for the ground breaking achievement.
Unfortunately Chuck got loose and had to pedal in the final round against Billy Glidden, but the runner up finish after breaking the record on a hot track and hot summer air is remarkable. We can't wait till the temperatures cool off this fall to see just how fast their Camaro is going to go!!
Last but not least, of course we also have to mention Gil and Chuck are running the new NCRC All Aluminum Billet Converter - The only converter in the threes on 10.5 tires...
Awesome achievement guys! Big congratulations from the entire staff at NCRC!!!

After wading through the stiff competition he defeated Travis Thomason for yet ANOTHER win in an "All NCRC" final, 5.164@138.27 vs Thomason's off pace 5.247@137.46
Congratulations Clint for a spectacular winning weekend!

NMCA/NMRA ZMAX WINNERS
NCRC Customers at the "All Star Nationals" bring home the $$$$
Both NMCA and NMRA were running at the new Zmax Dragway in Charlotte North Carolina August 8th. Hot temperatures made racing difficult, but NCRC customers rose to the challenge and took home SIX class wins!!!
Congratulations to all the NMCA and NMRA Winners for taking home the coin under some very challenging conditions!!!
NMCA Super Street
Jim Blair won his second race in a row in NMCA Super Street when he defeated Tony Nesbitt in an "ALL NCRC" final round in a strange finish for both racers.
Nesbitt had a mechanical failure during the pass and Blair had and issue coming up on the transbrake and was ready to abort the pass...until he saw Nesbitt broke. Blair took off with probably the slowest light in his driving career, a 2.901! Jim ended up catching and passing Tony for the win!
Like they say.. "It's not over till it's over" - this win proves you never know how a race will turn out!
NMCA Xtreme Street
Chris Singleton also found the winners circle at Zmax in Xtreme Street with his first victory since Maple Grove.
Singleton defeated Bill Trovato with a 8.152@173.81 to Bill's 8.362@166.91 which was quite a trick thanks to the challenging hot track surface.
NMCA Pro Stock
Skip Baskin took home the honors in Pro Stock over the hard charging Michael DeMayo. Demayo was running very strong all weekend with the low ET and top mph during qualifying.
In yet another "All NCRC" final, Baskin ran 8.62@156.19 to DeMayo's 8.846@158.22 - both very impressive performances for the conditions.

NMCA Mean Street
Don Baskin also followed up with a win in Mean Street at Zmax after winning Joliet in July. Don beat Alan Von Ahnen in a close race 10.059@131.57 to 10.088@132.00

Photos Courtesy StreetLegalTV.com
Robbie Blankenship chopped the tree down on Don Bowles in Hot Street in order to get to victory circle.
Blankenship cut a .017 light against Bowles who had a .078, then ran 8.886@154.14 vs Don's 8.864@152.02 for a nail biter of a race!

ULSCH & MOBLEY SET XTF RECORD
ADRL Extreme 10.5 Record Falls ... 3's will be here soon!

huck Ulsch collected his first win of the 2009 ADRL Season last weekend at the Richmond Event and received the maximum points available - all 516 of them...
Ulsch, driving Gil Mobley's brand new Vanishing Point 68 Camaro, broke both ends of the XTF record with a 4.01@195.73 blast during qualifying putting him in the #1 position. A very impressive run, but especially awesome since the car was setup very soft (1.06 60') to deal with the high track temps over the weekend.
To put that run into perspective, the car has ran .990 60' in previous runs and based on his back half numbers of 1.25 - this car has the capability of running in the 3.80's at 200+ when the stars are all lined up just right!!
Chuck later recorded a 197.19 mph pass when he defeated Jeff Naiser during round 3 of eliminations! In the final round the Mobley Motorsports Team defeated Gary White in the Titan Motorsports car with a 4.032@196.07 to White's 4.070@179.56, moving Ulsch to the #8 position in points.
Everyone here at NCRC is extremely proud of this new record as it was done with our new All Aluminum Billet Converter, proving it's not only the lightest, most efficient converter available today, but also strong enough to stand the power of a big screw blower... Just imagine what 6 to 17 lbs less rotating weight can do for your car's performance!
Big Congratulations to Chuck Ulsch, Gil Mobley, Todd Tutterow and the Mobley Motorsports Team!! We can't wait to see the car back out again!

Joe Newsham and Team J & E put another notch in their gun after winning the 4th of July at Cecil County's Outlaw Street Car Shootout in Outlaw 10.5.
Joe didn't have a easy time getting through the field as his bad blue mustang wanted to stand up and skate around but he held things together. Newsham got it working much better by semifinals where he defeated Tj Kasper. In the final round he smoked Mo Hall with a 4.49@168 pass!

In Drag Radial, "Big Daddy" Dwayne Gutridge captured his first win at Cecil this year after coming oh so close at the previous race. Dwayne must have loaded up the file labeled "Bracket Race Time" as his car was able to get down track when others were blowing the tires off.
It was so consistent he ran back to back 4.79@163 passes in both the semifinals and final round where he took out Lewis Jones for the win.

Jason was off pace during qualifying but quickly picked up during eliminations where he ran a 5.27@138.33 against Dewight's 5.37@134.65.
Congratulations on Back to Back Victories Jason!

NMCA MILAN CUSTOMER RESULTS
NCRC customers out in force...

Photos Courtesy StangTV.com
3 Time NMRA SSO Champ John Urist proved once again he's the man to beat at the June 13th NMRA Milan race. Urist, the #1 qualifier with a 7.4002@197.34, defeated Don Burton in a close blower vs. Nitrous race during the final round.
Dave Guy got his feet wet in NMRA BFG Drag Radial and showed the field he came packing when he went 8.03@182.18 mph - good enough for the #2 spot and top mph!
Unfortunately Dave got loose during the semifinals and collected the wall ending his day early. Hopefully repairs will be easy and we're glad to hear he wasn't hurt.
Over in Hot Street Mike Demayo Sr. and Max Gross were making their first passes on their new NCRC all-aluminum converter. The team was rewarded with multiple 1.16 60' times and a #2 qualifying position on the new setup. Robbie Blankenship, another NCRC customer, grabbed the #1 position in qualifying.
Max went all the way to the finals where he ran a 8.748 to Hanlon's 8.758, but unfortunately left too early drawing a .037 red light giving the win to Hanlon.
Congratulations Fella's on your wins, runner ups and strong performances!

4 CLASS WINS AT NMCA MAPLE GROVE!
Bucaro, Singleton, Booze & Baskin take home $$$$

Photos Courtesy StreetLegalTV.com
Wow - what a weekend for NCRC customers! At the NMCA Maple Grove race there were customer class wins in Nostalgia Pro Street, Xtreme Street, Pro-Stock and Mean Street... What do all those cars have in common? Why, it's Neal Chance Racing Converters!
Of course the other common thing about these racers is that they all work VERY HARD on their racing programs, and we're proud to be associated with their efforts!
In Nostalgia Pro Street Joe Bucaro defeated Barb Nesbit in an "All NCRC" final round. Bucaro ran 7.531@181.84 to Nesbit's 7.74@178.63. This win marks Joe's 2nd for this year - he's on a roll!
Chris Singleton took home the honors in Xtreme Street. He defeated Chuck Bartholme in a close race, 8.158@172.63 to 8.165@169.76.
Charlie Booze Jr. laid the smack down on Mike Konigshofer in Pro Stock! Booze wasted no time at the tree with a .047 light and ran her out the back door recording a "Can't catch this" 8.582@152.18 to Konigshofer's 8.715 attempt.
And last but not least, Don Baskin put his Chevy II in the Mean Street winners circle after defeating a redlighting Alan Von Ahnen, 10.061@130.07 to Ahnen's 10.119@131.65
Unfortunately NCRC customer Mike Yedgarian lost his car in a wreck during the semifinals. We're hoping the damage isn't too bad and wish him a speedy recovery getting the car back together.
Congratulations to all the winners from the folks here at NCRC!

VRETTOS CoRuPt's CECIL COUNTY
Another "ALL NCRC" Final Round in Drag Radial

Photos Courtesy Clickclickboom Photography
Several NCRC Heavy Hitters were out to test their luck at Cecil County's Outlaw Street Car Shoot Out June 6th. "Big Daddy" Dwayne Gutridge ripped off a 4.78@169 during qualifying which landed him the #1 spot. Alex Vrettos and Paul Major both followed up with solid 4.9X passes.
In eliminations, Major's Corvette had issues, putting him slightly off pace until he ended up getting loose and collecting the wall during round 2. At least Paul didn't get hurt, and we can hope the damage isn't too bad so he can be out racing again soon.
Gutridge and Vrettos both sawed through the field and ended up in a not so rare "All NCRC" final.
The odds were on Big Daddy who was consistently in the 4.70's on almost every pass where Vrettos was still getting a handle on his new setup. When it was show time, Vrettos and Team CoRupt proved "it ain't over till it's over" when Gutridge had to pedal giving Vrettos some breathing room. Alex went 4.87@150 and Big Daddy 5.08@142.
Congrat's to both Team CoRupt on their Win and Big Daddy on his Runner-Up and breaking the track record!

ADKINS PRO NITROUS ADRL DEBUT
Raises a few eyebrows at ADRL Memphis with .972 60'

Lee Adkins in only his 6th pass ran a .972 60 ft and cut .019 light against Halsey in the first round of ADRL at Memphis. At the 330 ft it looked like an upset, but Halsey showed his huge power coming around Adkins on the big end. Once Lee and his Team have some more time with the combination, you can bet this car is going to be a Power Hitter!
Lee you have the attention of the nitrous world and the haters will cry blanket draggin 60', but the naysayers need to do is look at the reaction time .019 and they'll realize there's no blanket draggin going on here!

DECERBO & GIBBONS WIN AT NORWALK
Decerbo doubles up with Norwalk & Thompson Raceway Win!
John Decerbo had a great Memorial Day weekend - He won Norwalk's "Door Wars" race on Friday, then turned around and won at Thompson Raceway again on Saturday!!!
Decerbo went 4.09@181 at Norwalk and 4.07@182 at Thompson - talk about consistent! John beat clutch cars on both nights in the finals and in both cases out mph'd them!!!
Take it from John Decerbo... "DUMP your clutch and install the latest billet aluminum converter from Neal Chance, only 22 lbs" or you can just hope you don't line up next to somebody running one!
Also at Norwalk, J.R. Gibbons won again in Drag Radial!!! And man talk about some MPH, he 198 out the back door!
Congratulations to both Decerbo and Gibbons on your wins!

BLANKENSHIP SMASHES NMRA RECORD
Robbie Blankenship raises the bar yet higher for Hot Street

At the NMRA race in Atco, New Jersey May 18th, Robbie Blankenship proved once again he's a bad dude in Hot Street.
Robbie, the #1 qualifier, cracked the old record in Hot Street during 2nd round of eliminations when he ran a 8.587@156.14! Wow... the first to the 8.50's, and it was no fluke either, he ran a string of 8.50's during the day.
Blankenship made it to the final round only to find problems where he passed the win to Don Bowles who ran a 8.66 to his aborted 10.466 effort. There is no doubt that Blankenship will be fixing the problem and be back out soon in his Roush Powered Hot Street Killer.
Congratulations to Mr. Blankenship on the new Record and R/U Finish!!!
We would also like to pass along get well soon wishes to long time customer Charlie Booze who broke his crank during qualifying.

WILLIAMS AND THOMASON WIN T-TOWN
Outlaw 10.5 and Limited Street "ALL NCRC" Finals
In a not so rare situation, all four final round finalists in LS and Outlaw 10.5 at the "Throw Down in T-Town" just so happened to be NCRC Customers! Makes it tough to know who to cheer for, but hey we still love to see it...
Stan "The Man" Williams at his second race since resuming his race career took down "Turbo Todd" Kitchen in Outlaw 10.5. Stan slaughtered the tree with a .005 light and ran a 4.977@162.70 to Kitchen's 5.39@116.28 - both cars well off their normal potential.
Over in Limited Street, Travis "Quazzy" Thomason put the hurt to Mike "G" Genovese in the final round. Thomason ran a 5.008@146.72 to G's off pace 5.443@143.34.
Congratulations to all the T-Town Winners and Runner Ups from the folks here at NCRC!!!

STRIPLING SCORES AT LITTLE RIVER
Breaks Huettel's old "Little Pooch" record in the heat
May 9th Trevor Stripling and crew took a road trip out to Little River Dragway to try his luck at their "Little Pooch" race which is very similar to the Houston Ultimate Street Rules he normally races at.
Due to the heat, getting down the track was a challenge for the Strych9 Team but they managed to take enough power out to squeak out a 5.24@138 in qualifying, good enough for #2 spot. During eliminations Stripling found some more bite and proceeded to dispatch Cord Clark with a 5.16 during round one. That pass also broke Kyle Huttel's previous record of 5.17!
Round two they kept the game plan the same, get down the track! It worked... Stripling beat Brad Dinkel who spun. During the final round of eliminations the team was up against Chad Smallwood, a familiar competitor from Houston's Ultimate Street Class. The get down the track game plan saved the day again when Smallwood blew the tires off and Stripling laid down a 5.24@139 for the win. Not a bad day at all, broke the track record AND took home the win!
Congratulations Trevor and the Strych9 Team!

TEN FIVE KINGS PREPARE FOR BATTLE
Petty/Lynch & Spiro Pappas putting down record numbers
NCRC would like to officially welcome back Steve Petty and Tim Lynch to NCRC! The "Lynch Mob" recently switched back to an NCRC Converter and Rossler Transmission combo for their famous record setting Mustang.
And they are faster then ever...
At Atlanta the duo were testing the car and laid down a new record Outlaw 10.5 pass in some "not so great air" - They went...
60 - 1.139
330 - 2.941
660 - 4.291@186
1000 - 5.458
1320 - 6.429 at 233.08
MPH
Unfortunately later in the day on an even better pass (1.09 60', 330' 2.90) the car got out of the groove about the 1/8th mile and collected the wall. Luckily Tim wasn't hurt and the damage is repairable. Hopefully we'll see them back out again very soon!
Also recently Spiro Pappas was been out testing his new ADRL Extreme 10.5 Car resulting in a new 1/4 mile record as well! Pappas, on a lifting pass, went...
60 - 1.007
330 - 2.733
660 - 4.089@182.03
1000 - 5.263
1320 - 6.328@193.18
Wow !! Look at the numbers and you can get a good idea of where that pass was headed if he hadn't lifted early. He also matched another NCRC Customer, Todd Moyer, to the 1/8th with the 4.089@179 - also lifting - that was the night he wrecked the Firebird.
If you're seeing a trend here, you're not the only one, and it's not by accident, NCRC Customers are the true "Kings of 10.5" no matter where they race, no matter what class they are in!!! Run down a list of the fastest in the sport, you'll have to agree, "You don't stand a chance if you don't have a CHANCE"!
Congrat's guys on the killer numbers, we can't wait to see what the summers racing season has in store!

HUSSEY SETS NEW ZEALAND N2O RECORD
NZDRA Top Doorslammer Record Holder
Wayne Hussey wrote in to tell us about his teams new record they set in New Zealand. Their 67 Nova laid down a 6.84@198.09 recently making it the fastest in the country on Nitrous!!
Wayne says he's sure his new aluminum converter had a lot to do with it, and that "it's a shame to have to hide it in the bell bellhousing!"
Congratulations from the folks here at NCRC Wayne!! It's so cool to see classic American Iron from across the world setting records!

NEW TECHNOLOGY HELPS WIN WALLY
Scott Stephens puts new billet converter to the test
Scott Stephens has a new Trophy to put on his shelf - a "Wally", NHRA's most prestigious award. He received the treasured 12lb trophy after winning the NHRA Division 6 points race at Firebird Raceway.
Scott wrote in to tell us all about his racing weekend and the deadly consistent first passes with his new 9" Billet Converter ...
During the Division 6 points race I ran my car in Top Sportsman and my qualifying passes were 7.778 in the right lane and 7.778 in the left lane on Friday.
Saturday's qualifying was rained out and we went directly into eliminations. With a huge weather change I ran 7.820 in first round to take out the number 2 points guy. After further rain delays we resumed eliminations on Sunday, I ran a 7.825 in second round for the win. I got the bye for the third round and only ran it to the thousand foot mark; the run completion was 7.822.
In the semis I had the number one qualifier and ran 7.824 just as it started to rain again, finals were postponed until Monday morning. In the final round I had the events defending champion, where I got lucky as he turned the red light on, as I was crossed up and had to lift.
The new all aluminum 9 inch converter that I bought from you paid for itself in the first race. There is not a lot of parts out there that you can put in the car and see immediate results, your converter is one of those parts.
Thanks for the great converter,
Scott Stephens
And Thank You Scott... We appreciated hearing of your win and how well the new converter worked for you!!! Congratulations!!!

DOWNS WINS CLASH TRUE TEN FIVE
Campbell Breaks Clash TT5 Records & Runners Up

Photo Courtesy Cxpress Photography / Tulsa Raceway Park
Clint Downs recorded his first win of the season during the The Clash of the Titans Season Opener at Tulsa Raceway Park Saturday. Downs, who recently switched his combination over to a F2 Procharger w/gear drive and a Glide, recorded his first 7 second pass during eliminations!
No doubt it was exciting for Clint to get that first seven, but he had his work cut out for him because on the other side of the ladder Shannon Campbell from Wichita, KS was busy breaking the COTT TT5 ET & MPH Records when he went 7.707@182.72! There was no doubt the hours between rounds were likely maddening...
"It Ain't Over 'til It's Over"
Both NCRC customers met up in the "All NCRC final round" with Campbell having a clear advantage on paper. Campbell got out first when he slaughtered the tree with a .000 reaction time, Downs next cut a respectable .071 but then Shannon stood his Mustang up almost to the bumper, lifted then did it again! Proving "It Ain't Over 'til It's Over", Downs motored straight down Broadway for the win, 8.100@170.00 to Campbells aborted 9.026@158.89.
Congratulations to both Racers from the folks at NCRC!!!
More Weekend Customer News
In other racing news this weekend, NCRC Customer Rob Valden got loose and crunched his car into the wall at Orangesburg. We're glad to hear he's ok and hope the damage isn't too extensive.
Down South Grant McCrary went 4.10@189 in Kennedale, Texas... Wow! Way to go G-Mac! and last but not least, Joe Newsham won the Atco Quick 8 Race!! Congrat's Joe!!

BERRY & DILLARD DO IT AGAIN!
Busted L/S Record Again with 12 Year Old Converter...
Todd Berry and Eric Dillard are at it again! This weekend at Alabama International Dragway they became the first Limited Street car in the record books to bust into the 4.50's when they recorded a 4.596@170 mph blast!
Incrementals were;
1.21 60'
3.13 330'
4.596@170.90 660'
An interested footnote, this record was slaughtered with a 12 year old NCRC converter - How many 12 year old converters could live behind 632 with twins? How many companies were making a converter capable of this feat and live 12 years ago? There is only one... NCRC!!!
Congratulations Guys !!!

PAPPAS RUNNERS UP IN ADRL XTF
New Car Goes to the ADRL XTF Finals at First Race!!!

Only weeks after loosing his Hemi Camaro in a wreck at the NMCA race in Bradenton, Spiro Pappas is back in action! This time he's behind the wheel of Jerry Bickle built Pontiac GXP due to the hard work of his crew who we're sure burned some midnight oil getting the car ready for the ADRL Race at South Georgia Motorsports Park.
Pappas, Crew Chief Don Bailey and the rest of the team wrenched right through the new car blues. The guys took the car from "can't get down the track" in qualifying to a hard charging XTF competitor and ended up in the final round against Billy Glidden. Glidden ended up winning with a 4.091 to Spiro's 4.161, which is a runner up finish anyone can be certainly proud of!! Look for more out of the new Pontiac this year when they get her all dialed in!
Hat's off to Spiro and the Pappas Racing Team!

ULSCH & VRETTOS TAKE CECIL COUNTY
NCRC Customers win Outlaw 10.5 and Outlaw Drag Radial

Photos Courtesy StreetLegalTV.com
Chuck Ulsch and Gil Mobley picked up where they left off last year, in the winners circle!
At Cecil County's 1st Street Car Shootout of the 2009 season the Mobley Motorsports team was back in action. The Team qualified #1 with a solid 4.20@190, .17 faster than the closest competitor. Driver Chuck Ulsch had no problem slicing through the competition delivering consistant passes in the 4.20's. In the final round it was Tom Kasper in his Proline Powered Turbo Mustang vs Ulsch but Kasper ran into problems and could only squeeze out a 4.81 against another 4.20 pass out of the big bad Camaro!
Congratulations Guys - Looks like it's going to be a very successful season for your Team!!

Photos Courtesy StreetLegalTV.com
In Drag Radial Alex Vrettos brought out his Mustang that went through quite a few upgrades during the winter. Understandably after making a lot of changes there's going to be bugs to worked out on a new setup, but TEam CoRuPt got the job done with flying colors.
Vrettos qualified #1 with an off pace 5.08@152 - not a barn burner, but still good enough to grab that #1 seat. Paul Major, another NCRC Customer was also suffering first time out traction issues and qualified #4 with 5.43@148.
During eliminations traction issues continued to plague both Major and Vrettos, but Vrettos was able to put down enough power to overtake Major in an "All NCRC" semifinal - Major went a troubled 6.44@89, way off from the cars potential and Vrettos took the win with a soft 5.05@140 pass.
In the final round Vrettos faced the #2 qualifier Quentin Methany and both racers had to deal with a cold track. Vrettos did a better job of dialing back the power enough to successfully go 5.22@130 against Methany's tire spinning 5.58@134.
Congratulations on your win TEam CoRuPt and Alex Vrettos!!!

FUTCH/ZALDIVAR SWITCH BACK TO NCRC
BACK ON BOARD WITH NCRC - NOW FASTER THAN EVER!

After suffering way too many breakage problems with a "Brand X" transmission and converter combinations, Carlos Zalidvar decided to switch back to a tried and true, battle proven combo, a Neal Chance converter and Bruno/Lenco transmission. As a result his new Outlaw 10.5 Corvette is faster than ever! And no more breakage!
With Bill Futch handling the driving chores the team raced last weekend at the 1320X event in Rockingham. They qualified #2 with the new combo with a 4.35! Just .02 off the #1 seat. In the final round they runnered up with a 4.30 to Tim Lynch's slower 4.33, but Lynch chopped the tree down for the win during a close race.
Next Futch & Zalidvar traveled to Shadyside for the Garland Buff Memorial Race just in time for the Sunday qualifying session. In the final round they took home a solid $5000 win over Bryan Markowitz ending the weekend with both a Win and and Runner Up with no broken parts! A pretty good weekend in any racers book!
WELCOME BACK GUYS TO NCRC and CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WIN AND R/U!!!

NMCA BRADENTON CUSTOMER RESULTS
NCRC CUSTOMERS GRAB WINS IN NPS AND SUPER STREET

The NMCA Season Opener at Bradenton Motorsports Park March 29th got off to a rainy start but was able to run most of their classes before the windy day was over on Sunday.
In Nostalgia Pro Street Joe Bucaro took home the win over Jim Widener with a small block - a first in the NPS class! Joe was the #1 Qualifier with a 7.524 and ran a 7.403@183.71 during eliminations!
Congat's Joe!!
In Super Street Jim Blair took home the honors after qualifying third with a 6.98@198 MPH. Jim just switched to a brand new NCRC Billet Aluminum Converter which the team learned needs some more adjustment to hit the exact needs for his combo. So look for some lower ET's at the next race!
Mike Yedgarian from Canada recently also switched to NCRC and ProLine Power for 2009. Mike grabbed the #1 qualifying position with a 6.88@213! Later in the day he went 6.79@219!! Mike redlighted in the semi-final against Jim Blair, ending his day early but we're sure he'll be back and running hard.
In the "All NCRC Final Round" - Jim faced another NCRC Customer, Spiro Pappas in the other lane. Blair cut the tree down big time on Pappas getting out first, and that was lucky because Pappas got loose, hit the wall and then crossed over the track in a flaming fireball behind him.
We're very sorry to learn Spiro lost his beautiful Camaro but very relieved that he wasn't injured.
Congratulations to Jim on his first win of the season and welcome to the NCRC Family!
In Xtreme Street we would also like to send an "Atta boy" to Aaron Stapleton who made it to the final round which wasn't able to be completed in Bradenton. Aaron set top speed during qualifying with a 8.088@182.87 mph blast putting him in the #2 spot. He'll face Bob Kurgan at the next event in Bowling Green to complete their final round.
NMCA Pro Stock also had a pair of NCRC Customers make it to the final round which hasn't been completed yet. Mike Demayo and Skip Baskin (one of our newer converts) are schedule to finish their race also at Bowling Green. Skip qualified #1 with a 8.556@153.81 and broke the NMCA record with an 8.43!!
Congratulations Skip on the new record!
STRIPLING RESETS TDRL RECORD
BLOWS AWAY TUFF STREET RECORD AT SEASON OPENER

Trevor Stripling picked up where he left off last year, by blowing away records at every available opportunity.
Last season he finished the year by kicking the OTTA Ultimate Street record to the curb with a 5.142@140.32 blast. Well, he didn't leave the car in the trailer all winter... no sir! He worked on the combo and it paid off for him at the Texas Drag Racing League Season Opener at Houston Motorsports Park.
Stripling started the day by qualifying #1 with a tire shaking 5.16@143.36, setting a new class record in the process. The team made some adjustments and went out and blew away the record again on the next pass with a 5.092@143.63 first round of eliminations, then a 5.050@143.40 in the 2nd round, and next followed up with a 5.074@143.22 in the semifinals. To put further salt in his competitors wounds, he did it on 28x10.5S's, true stock suspension, no digital MSD box, and a single stage Speedtech plate!
Unfortunately, due to an accident involving another NCRC Customer, Todd Moyer, the Tuff Street class was not able to finish their final round of eliminations ending the race early. You can bet that the Strych9 Racing Team is going to be putting the hurt to their competition all season long!
Way to go Trevor and the Strych9 Racing Team!
We would also like to express our best wishes to Todd Moyer and his team who lost their record setting ADRL XTF Firebird at HMP in a wreck at this race. We're glad that Todd was not injured and hope he can get back out racing gain soon!
NEAL FINDS HIS LUCKY RABBITS FOOT
BLANKENSHIP & NEAL WIN @ NMRA SEASON OPENER
Keith Neal started the 2009 season off by forging his way into the winners circle at the NMRA Season Opener in Bradenton, Florida.
Neal, who had a pretty rough season last year, started off with a clean slate and ripped through the competition in his Garrett Turbo sponsored Mustang.
In a nail biting semi-final where both he and Mike Murrillo both went red, Keith got lucky and jumped the least allowing him to continue on to the final round where he faced defeated Ruben Tetsoshvili. Neal took home the win to Georgia, 7.281@199.37 to Ruben's tire smoking 9.20@147.34.
That's a pretty good way to start the season, especially when you consider it was the first time out for Keith with a untested new engine and electronics combination.
Congratulations Keith!!!

In Hot Street Robbie Blankenship picked right up where he left off last year by grabbing the #1 qualifier spot with a 8.634@155.60. The day continued to go his way through eliminations when he defeated Ben Mens in a double red light final. Robbie went -.01, 8.717@154.34 with no time recorded on Mens.
Way to go Robbie!!
Bradenton seems to be plauged lately with an abnormal number of red lights this year. There were quite a few at the previous Drag Radial Race as well.
On a side note, we're sorry to hear about the damage some of the racers had at Bradenton. Customer Conrad Scarry who recently won the "Battle of the Brands" in Orlando did some serious damage to his car when he wrecked during qualifying, Jerry Morgano wrecked his car during qualifying and Dwayne James suffered a serious fire during round 1. We're glad everyone was ok and no serious injurys occurred...

MOYER FIRST EXTREME 10.5 OVER 185
SETS NEW ADRL XTF RECORD & WINS FLOWMASTER REWARD
NCRC Customer Todd Moyer reset the ADRL Extreme 10.5 MPH Record March 8th at Houston Raceway Park. He'll go down in history as the first one over 185 in the class and he collected a $5000 reward from Flowmaster for his efforts! Moyer laid down a blistering 4.12@187 mph pass during qualifying and again during the first round of eliminations.
Unfortunately Moyer got a red light in the 2nd round ending his day early, but look for a strong showing from the Texas native at the next ADRL race in Cecil, Georgia.
Congratulations Todd and the entire Moyer Crew!

FUTCH WINS PBIR ULTIMATE SHOOTOUT
HIS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON IN OUTLAW 10.5
Bill Futch recorded his first win of the season last weekend at the Palm Beach International Raceway's Ultimate Shootout in Outlaw 10.5.
Armed with low ET of the event, Bill defeated Mike Stavrinos with a clear win in the final round with a 4.392@170.82 against Stavrinos who laid down a 4.561@154.40.
Another NCRC Customer, Kevin Fiscus, didn't have a great day in Drag Radial, but did manage to runner up even though the team wasn't running up to potential.
Congratulations Bill and Team on their win, and Kevin Fiscus on his R/U!
DILLARD RESETS L/S and D/R RECORDS
RECORDS FALL AGAIN AT SGMP
2009 is going to be off the hook! We're seeing Drag Radial records getting reset almost every weekend by Neal Chance Customers... what a great way to start the season!
Last weekend at South Georgia Motorsports Park, Driver Eric Dillard and Car Owner Todd Berry reset both the Drag Radial and Limited Street records when they decided to try a set of M/T radials on their ORSCA Limited Street Car. After only three hits they ran a new Drag Radial 1/4 mile ET record by blasting down the track with a 6.91@221 - their increments were;
60: 1.290
330: 3.211
660: 4.661@170.0
1320: 6.910@221.6
That's impressive, especially when you consider that was the third pass on radials and they were leaving pretty soft as shown in the 1.29 60' time. Since Drag Radials are legal for ORSCA Limited Street, the pass also resets that record as well! Their best 1/8 mile pass on the tires was a 4.640. Now the car runs a ORSCA L/S Legal 4-link, which may disqualify it from some peoples minds for a "Drag Radial" record, but like it or not, it ran the number and it's the new 1/4 Mile ET to beat period.
Congratulations Eric and Todd!
SCARRY WINS O10.5 @ BOTB ORLANDO
19th ANNUAL BATTLE OF THE BRANDS 1st 2009 WIN
Conrad Scarry started off the season with a bang by winning Outlaw 10.5 at the Battle of the Brands March 2nd. The Scarry Team switched to a big block twin 88 combo this year and went out and ran some 4.43@178 mph passes with his previous small block converter setup! So you can bet with some more tweaking the new bigger engine is going to be laying down some absolutely awesome ETs in the near future!
Congrat's on the Win Guys!

FISCUS SETS NEW DRAG RADIAL RECORD
TESTING AT SGMP YIELDS BIG RESULTS!
Kevin Fiscus raised the bar once again in the Drag Radial World after recording a pair of sub 6 seconds passes at South Georgia Motorsports Park last weekend.
Kevin got "oh so close" last Fall at the Bradenton Snowbirds race, but put the car on the bumper after recording a 7.06@202.79 and didn't get the chance. Next at the US Nationals at Bradenton he runnered up with a 4.66@164.86 final round showing he had the ability but needed some more tweaking to put it solidly in the 6's. Winners never rest, so Kevin and crew went back at it doing some more updates to the car and was rewarded at SGMP during testing.
Kevin went 4.609@164.97 to the 1/8th and 6.949@216.76 out the back door on his second pass (one of two 6 second passes). Now that's flying and repeatable! Not only is Kevin's Mustang quicker than any other Drag Radial car out there, it's also quicker than any True 10.5 Car to date that we're aware of... and he's only running a SBF with twin 88's!!!
Congratulations Kevin and Team, we knew you would run the number any time!
