Specifications
Channels -
2 RPM, 4 Analog, 1 Acceleration, 3 Digital (and Internal Battery Volts)
Sample Rates - Each channel individually programmable for 0-500 samples per second.
RPM Channels (2)
- Engine RPM - Reads engine RPM from ignition tach signal or external sensor.
0-12,000 RPM range.
- Drive Shaft RPM - Magnetic or Hall Effect sensor.
0-12,000 RPM range.
Analog Channels (4)
Programmable sample rates and filtering allow each channel to be tailored to the sensor type.
Sensors available for oil, water, temp, EGT, pressure, position, vacuum, linear travel and acceleration.
Accepts 0-5vdc sensor signals. Digital Channels (3)
On/off indications for any function that can be seen as a voltage change or switch closure, such as WOT, nitrous stages, etc.
Sample rates up to 500 per second allow for verification of timer, transbrake/throttle stop timing to within .002 seconds. Communications - RS-232 Serial Port
Power - Operates on 10-18VDC. Draws less than 2/10ths of an amp. We suggest a 2 amp fuse to protect the unit in the event of short circuits in the sensors or cables. Size - 5.25 wide x 1.125 tall x 4.375 deep. Allow for approximately 1 3/4" clearance on front and rear of data logger for cables. Mounting
The DL10 Data Logger can be mounted at any angle just about anywhere in the car. The unit has screws on each side of the unit to mount the unit to a bracket (not supplied) or, since the DL10 computer is so light, you could tie it down with velcro strips. In order to prevent ignition noise from interfering with the operation of the Data Logger computer, don't mount the computer within 1 foot of the ignition box, coil or ignition wires. The magnetic fields created by those components may cause erratic operation. Activation
Activation of the record function can be triggered by either the red button on the front panel or by a remote trigger switch. The Remote Record Switch can be placed anywhere you like to allow driver or crew to activate the computer during staging. Use a momentary, normally open switch for this function, and use shielded cable to connect it to the Data Logger.
